The history of the site

A living heritage in the heart of the forest

A former forest house dating back to 1875, this charming property predates the French Revolution and is set in the privileged environment of the Vosges du Nord Regional Nature Park, a UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve.

Here, nature reigns supreme. Stealthy lynx, roe deer crossing at dawn, curious foxes, nocturnal badgers... you're not quite at home here.

Nestling in a wooded clearing of around 1 hectare at the foot of the Grand Wintersberg, the highest point in the massif, the former Buchwald forest house is at the crossroads of countless hiking trails, including the historic GR53, which runs alongside it.
